Tuesday, October 6, 2009. THE ICONIC AND ATOMIC JULIUS SHULMAN. The Stahl House - Julius Shulman photography. Today, a great many of the buildings documented by Shulman have disappeared or been crudely converted, but the thirst for his pioneering images is stronger than ever before. In 1987, the Shulman House was designated a Cultural Heritage Monument by the City of Los Angeles. In 2000 Julius Shulman gave up retirement to begin working with his current business partner Juergen Nogai.
This summer has been rather uneventful in regards to the house and garden. That leaves me with a bit of a maintenance problem. A gardener would be nice. I noticed that the best looking yards in our neighborhood are maintained by professional gardeners or lawn services. Maybe I should follow the leaders here? Det går bra nu! Ojsan, vad länge det var sen jag skrev någonting. Inte för att det inte har hänt nåt, har nog hänt för mycket så jag inte haft tid och ork. Lite shopping fick vi till ändå. Oj, oj oj! .
För några helger sedan tog jag färjan till Helsingfors igen. Där tittade jag på fotografi av Steve McCurry. Den senare utställningen mycket bra men med med alldeles för få bilder. Hängde vid havet, drack massor av kaffe och. Sprang på de finländska fotbollssupportrarna på väg till VM-kvalmatchen Finland-Vitryssland. Det är marsalk Mannerheim som håller ett vakande öga på dem. Och var ska mannen till vänster ta vägen i den bussen? Det funderar jag fortfarande på.
Jag blir ibland trött på ord. Vad betyder de egentligen? Inte ett dugg om vi inte ger dom ett verkligt innehåll. Annars bara ljud som inte betyder något alls. Ord som tolkas, används, värderas, bedöms. Ord som jag inte längre äger så fort jag sagt dem högt eller skrivit ned dom. Vad är en god bok? Eller bläddra .
